모든 것이 데이터로 환원되는 과도기적 현실에서 김효재는 ‘디폴트’ 라는 탈진실적 물음을 지속해왔다.
디폴트(Default)의 사전적 정의는 컴퓨터 프로그램의 기본값을 뜻하나 김효재의 작업 속 디폴트Default는 '인간과 데이터 간의 전이 속 사용자가 스스로 설정하는 새로운 정체성’ 를 의미한다.
본 작품은 소셜미디어 속 인플루언서 김나라(@naras._)의 디폴트를 보여주면서 메타버스(Metaverse) 속 인간이 스스로 설정할 수 있는 기본값에 대한 물음을 던진다.
